How to Generate Awesome Biz Ideas
The past two weeks has been a complete roller-coaster in terms of preparing for finals, my upcoming graduation, and preparing myself for the next chapter of life after college. I hope you enjoyed my last interview with Arielle Scott about the GenJuice movement and I urge you to go check out the tour, it should be lots of fun and great relationships will be made.
In previous posts I’ve mentioned how I have many ideas I would like to execute on one at a time. Its important to constantly remind myself to stay laser focused and not be overwhelmed by several ideas. However, I do think its great to have many concepts to work with – just remember, stay laser focused – one idea at a time.
Ideas are a dime a dozen – if we don’t act on them they are nothing. The misconception about ideas is people often think their ideas are not good enough. Well I have news for you, an idea is merely a seed. Its a seed that requires nourishment and a good foundation. You should never think about an idea as not good enough, ideas evolve over time once they are executed on. A good example is Yu-Kai Chou’s and Jun Loayza’s Viralogy, I remember it starting out as a platform to highlight awesome bloggers and it slowly evolved into dynamic insights for e-commence. Not sure if they still have plans to highlight awesome bloggers but the point is that they started with an idea and it evolved. The following slide shares how I generate several ideas and concepts, if you’re an aspiring entrepreneur this should be a great brainstorming tool to get your mind generating.
Feel free to share the slides and put the tips to use. I may be studying for my last final, accepting my college diploma, or out celebrating graduation with the family while your reading this. I’ll find time to interact in the comments, see you there. Also look out for my next interview with Colin Wright from the ExileLifestyle as we discuss the benefits of networking awesomely.
What ways do you generate ideas? Has an idea that seemed silly ever stop you from executing? Do you build upon your ideas and test them?
